Music Students give Dazzling Performance at Barnsley and Rotherham Business Awards

25 October 2018

Music students at Level 3 and degree-level were invited to entertain the guests in the VIP Area at last weekend’s Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.

Hosted at Magna Science Adventure Centre, the awards were delivered by the Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber of Commerce, with our Music Performance students supporting Rotherham College Level 3 Music students who performed live during the event.

Matt Knowles is BA Popular Music Performance and Production student who acted as tech support for the event. He said, “I really enjoyed the evening and I’ve learnt a few extra skills during the event too! The evening was spectacular, both artists performed exceptionally, and the guests all looked a million dollars! I’d like to thank Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber of Commerce for the opportunity.”

Andi Rae, Curriculum Team Leader of Music at Rotherham College and University Centre Rotherham added, “I’m incredibly proud of our students Hasan Talay and Matt Knowles as they, along with staff accompanist Joshua Raymond helped to entertain the guests in the VIP Area.

“They were a credit to the Music department in the way that they conducted themselves and showcased the amazing talent that we have here at Rotherham College’s Roland Music Academy.

“It was fantastic to see the great performances that these talented musicians put on for the appreciative crowd and I’m sure they set the tone for a great night celebrating successful businesses in Barnsley and Rotherham.”
