Teachers and Career Advisors

Schools Liaison Team

If you’re a teacher or career advisor, you have direct access to our dedicated Schools Liaison Team. The team provides students with the support they need to make informed decisions about their next steps after school, including information on vocational qualifications and apprenticeships.

Trained to Level 3 in Information, Advice and Guidance, we can deliver support to help aid students in making those steps, all of which can be personalised and adapted on request. Delivered either in schools or at our college campus, activities include:

  • College tours
  • Presentations
  • Application sessions
  • Attendance of careers fairs
  • Attendance of parents’ evenings and options evenings
  • Mock interview support
  • Taster days
  • Personal statement and CV workshops

We also work closely with the Safeguarding and Additional Learning Support, and Curriculum teams to ensure the transition goes as smoothly as possible for those students that may require some extra guidance.

Pre-16 provision

We work in partnership with local schools to provide a wide range of technical programmes for students to study at college alongside their school studies.

Programmes are designed to support transition into post 16- education, raise aspirations and attainment, and provide students with hands-on skills to prepare them for their future.

Y10 and Y11 students work in a bespoke group of pre-16 year olds, attending college one or two days per week, and working towards a qualification in areas such as Construction or Hair and Beauty. Students can also apply to infill into subject areas including Computing and Digital, Engineering, Health and Social Care, Employability Skills and Construction to name just a few.

Unfortunately we are not able to offer any ongoing learning opportunities for school learners for the 23/24 academic year. This includes groups or individuals wishing to infill into our post 16 Study Programmes.

We review our curriculum planning on a year on year basis and are keen to work with schools to provide meaningful education in the form of school link opportunities, if you would like to request any bespoke provision for the 24/25 academic year for groups of 8 or more learners please email pre16@rnngroup.ac.uk by 4th December 2023.
