I’m starting in September

We can’t wait to welcome you to College in September, so we’ve put together this area of useful links and information to give you the lowdown on being a student with us.

We’ve covered everything from enrolment to financial support and have pulled together a handy list of FAQs that may answer any questions you may have before starting with us. If there is anything else you would like to know, please get in touch.

Enrolment

This year’s enrolment will be completed in two parts.

Firstly, you will be sent an email with instructions to complete your online enrolment at home. As soon as you receive this email, you will be able to log in and begin enrolling.

The second part will be in person and you will be given a date and time to attend college to finalise your enrolment. This is where we will double check your GCSE results and you will be issued with a timetable and your college I.D card.

We will send further information out to applicants over the summer. If you have any questions, or require any support with enrolment, please give us a call on 01709 362111 or email info@rotherham.ac.uk

FAQs

We understand that you may have questions regarding enrolment and starting college. To save you time contacting us, we’ve compiled a list of questions and answers that we hope will help.

Don’t worry if you still haven’t received your grades. You can still enrol!

Why do I need to enrol?

All students are required to enrol at the start of each academic year. When you enrol as a student with us, you will be able to access the wide range of facilities, resources and services that the College provides.

What documents do I need to enrol?

You are advised to have these documents to hand when you complete your enrolment:

  • Proof of Qualifications – GCSE results, Certificates.
  • Identification – Passport, Driving Licence, Birth Certificate, National Insurance Card/Letter.
  • Payment of Fees – this only applies if you need to pay for your course. If you are aged 16-18 on 31st August, you will not have course fees to pay.
  • Evidence of fee remission – If you are aged 19+ and unemployed and seeking employment you may be eligible to have your fees waived. Fee remission will only be given where individuals can provide the appropriate evidence of their situation/status. This may include Job Seekers Allowance, Employment Support Allowance (WRAG or Contributions Based), Housing Benefit, Council Tax Benefit, Universal Credits, Income Support or Pension Credit. I am unable to complete my enrolment online.

Whilst we anticipate that the majority of students will be able to complete their enrolment form online, we do recognise that some students may be unable to do this, if this is the case we will help you complete it when you come to your face to face enrolment session.

I am a returning student. Do I need to enrol?

Yes. If you are a returning student then you will need to complete the first part of your enrolment online. You will then be given a date and time to attend college to finalise your enrolment.
