Momentous Football Academy
We have teamed up with Momentous Football Academy with the aim of bringing education and sports together.
There will be an extensive and varied range of weekly and 1:1 sessions designed to nurture and develop young players and improve football skills allowing students to excel.
These sessions are for players of all abilities in a pressure free environment, whether you are just starting out on your football journey or if you already have football experience, we can cater for all.
Students from Dearne Valley College, Rotherham College, North Notts College and University Centre Rotherham have the opportunity to combine studies with high-level football performance.

The Momentous Football Academy Programme
This programme will consist of the following:
- Training and games programme delivered by Momentous Football Academy (4 hours coaching and 2 hours fixture)
- Assessment of start points and progress
- FA qualified coaches (UEFA qualified), who will liaise with the Personal Development and Curriculum leads and staff
- Technical and tactical coaching pathway
- Athlete conditioning
- Nutritional support and guidance
- Analysis of performance
- Psychological and social developmental delivery
- Opportunities to progress into work experience and PT employment within football coaching pathway with Momentous
- Momentous has become an Employer Academy and support the holistic development of the students of RNN Group
Trials Information
Trial Dates
Below shows the programme trial dates, with the academic year starting the week commencing 2nd September 2024.
You will need to attend both dates.
Trail Dates: Saturday 8th June and Saturday 29th June
Time: 11.00am – 2pm
Venue: Dearne Valley College
Pre-Season Training
Once successful in trials, there will be some keeping warm and pre-season training that students can attend to get ready for the start of the football season.
Training Dates:
- Thursday 18th and 25th July
- Tuesday 13th, 20th and 27th August
- Thursday 15th, 22th and 29th August
Time:
11am – 2pm (10:30am arrival)
Bus transport will be provided for all the training dates.
Pick up times are as follows:
- From North Notts College at 9.30am
- From Rotherham College at 10am
- From Dearne Valley College at 10.15am
Return times are as follows:
- Drop off at Dearne Valley College is 2pm
- Drop off at Rotherham College is 2.15pm
- Drop off at North Notts College is 2.45pm
Training and Fixtures
From September, students will train weekly every Monday and Tuesday 1pm – 3pm and compete in fixtures on Wednesday afternoons.
Transport will be provided for Rotherham College and North Notts College students to travel to and from Dearne Valley College for all training and fixtures.
