Being active at Rotherham College is not just about sports. We provide opportunities for all students to try activities and hopefully find one that will help you develop physically, mentally and socially – all while having fun.
Activities vary throughout the year and these change regularly due to demand. Some of our most popular activities include: table tennis, yoga/Pilates, boxercise, kurling, boccia, fitness, football, netball, basketball, rounders, volleyball, tennis, cricket and many more.
We also organise off-site visits to water sports, rock climbing walls, swimming and ice skating facilities.
We also offer opportunities to be part of the Association of Colleges (AOC) Leadership Academy programme as Ambassadors for Mental Health, This Girl Can and Inclusivity. These ambassadors support activities we deliver such as International Disability Day and in December 2020 our Inclusive Ambassador supported the delivery of a Boccia Festival for Flex Learners.
We take part in AOC regional competitions in Men’s Futsal, PAN Disability Football and Boccia. Other sports competitions are available subject to demand. Let us know if you have a talent and would like to represent the college.
Rotherham College is one of 11 colleges with an FA Women’s Football Development Officer – Megan Wickers. Megan is working with our students to increase female football participation in preparation for the Women’s Euros coming to Rotherham in 2022.
