Rotherham College Confirm C-Learning as Digital Employer Academy Sponsor

3 August 2020

Computing and Digital learners from Rotherham College will be among the first learners at the college to benefit from a new partnership with C-Learning, an international cloud learning services company and Google for Education Premier Partner.

The partnership will see the global technology business offer support and guidance on the skills the technology industry is looking for, as they collaborate with staff on the design of the Computing and Digital curriculum offered at the College.

The link between the two organisations promises to broaden the horizons of learners from across a wide range of curriculums as both the College and C-Learning recognise that every industry is going digital.

C-Learning Executive Chairman Jamie Smith will take the lead on the project for the business and is looking forward to working collaboratively with curriculum teams across the College.

Jamie said: “Firstly, I’d like to pay tribute to the RNN Group who, I think, are being very forward-thinking with the Employer Academy initiative. This progressive approach to ensuring learners have real-world experience and key employability skills will give them real-world advantages.

“Working closely and collaboratively with the college will allow us to access talented work-ready individuals who possess the skills the technology industry needs.

“I hope this partnership will highlight to learners just how many opportunities are available within the technology industry. What I really want to highlight to learners is that what really matters is passion, attitude and having really strong interpersonal skills, if they have those then they can really fit into the industry and the wider business world.

“We’re looking to provide opportunities to learners from a range of curriculums. The technology industry welcomes diversity, and embraces variety, as it enhances and accelerates innovation in the sector.”

Rotherham College Curriculum Manager for Computing and Digital Leanne Brunt will work closely with Jamie to develop a cutting-edge curriculum that will provide learners with sought after skills.

Leanne said: “Having Jamie on board to work with our digital team will provide an exceptional source of information and support for our staff and learners.

“Jamie’s input into our curriculum will be extremely valuable and will ensure we can provide a responsive and relevant curriculum for our learners to ensure they succeed in the next stages of their chosen digital careers.”
