Welcome Week 2025

5 September 2025

Welcome Week at Rotherham College marked the exciting beginning of the academic year with a packed schedule designed to help new and returning students feel settled, included, and excited for the term ahead.

Over the course of the week, students dove into inductions, campus tours, curriculum talks, and workshops led by local employers and industry experts.

Each lunchtime buzzed with activities: table tennis, retro-gaming and student performances to help everyone relax, connect, and explore campus life.

Art and design learners enjoyed an educational trip to the Hepworth Gallery and Yorkshire Sculpture Park, gaining creative inspiration and friendship as they explored together.

From week two onwards, induction transitions into themed weekly focuses, such as careers fairs (week 5), wellbeing (week 6), skills support (week 7), and a celebratory closing week before the half-term break, all contributing to an eight-week ‘Find Your Feet’ programme designed to help students find their footing on campus, in friendships, and academically.

As Welcome Week draws to a close, we want to extend a heartfelt welcome to all our new learners joining Rotherham College, and the best of luck on your college journey. You’ve already taken the first big step in building friendships, exploring your interests, and choosing to learn in a welcoming, diverse, and ambitious community.
