Your first few weeks at college
Week 1: Welcome – 2nd-4th September
Getting to know your College
This week we will be giving tours, providing demos on the tools that we use at College, and staff will be giving information talks at the start of lessons.
Take a look below to see what’s happening each day, please speak to your tutor if you are interested in taking part in a workshop or listening to a talk.

Week 2: September Sign Up – 7th-11th September
September Sign Up
Learners can sign up to a club or activity with sign up fairs at each campus and during each lunchtime in reception areas.
Monday 7th September
Morning: Creative Writing club taster session.
Afternoon: Creative Writing club taster session, and football at Clifton Park.
Tuesday 8th September
Morning: Arts and Crafts club taster session.
Afternoon: Arts and Crafts club taster session, and there will be a wellbeing walk.
Wednesday 9th September
Stalls will be set up in the Refectory from 9.30am until 3pm where you can take a look at the clubs and activities available to Rotherham College students.
Stalls will include; Rainbow Project, Student Union, enrichment, RMBC, Momentous Football Academy, Talking Therapies, Arc Cinema Rotherham, plus lots more!
Thursday 10th September
Morning: Driving Theory club taster session.
Afternoon: Driving Theory club taster session, and there will be a wellbeing walk.
Friday 11th September
Morning: D&D club taster session.
Afternoon: D&D club taster session, and football at Clifton Park.
Week 3: Let us know what you think – 14th-18th September

Let us know what you think week will include surveys and discussions with learners about how it’s going.
Parents information evenings will also happen this week at each campus.
Week 4: Swap Don’t Drop – 21st-25th September
Swap Don’t Drop
We want to make sure that you are happy with the course that you’re on.
Did you know that if you aren’t completely happy, you can swap to a different course? We can support you in finding the right course for you.
Week 5: Careers Week – 28th September – 2nd October
Focus on careers and skills
There will be speakers and workshops happening thoughout the week, the schedule is to be confirmed. Please speak to your tutor if you are interested in taking part in a workshop or listening to a talk.
Week 6: Wellbeing Week – 5th-9th October
Wellbeing Week
We have a wellbeing focus this week which will include a range of activities.
Week 7: Higher Education Week – 12th-6th October
A focus on Higher Education
This week we focus on Higher Education and what’s available for our learners, it will include sessions and workshops, see the schedule below. Please speak to your tutor if you are interested in taking part in a workshop or listening to a talk.
Week 8: Celebrations – 19th-23rd October
Celebrating your time with us so far
This week we will celebrate the end of the first half term, this will include rewards for attendance and general awards for our learners, more information to follow.
Enrichment
Our enrichment activities provide you with the opportunity to try new things, develop new skills, and meet new people.
See what activities are available by speaking with the Personal Development team or scanning the QR codes found on the enrichment board in reception.
Your College ID badge gives you…
Access to College facilities and your classes, the ability to borrow library books, print documents, and pay for food and drinks.
You can also earn kudos points to win £100 each term!
Wear your ID badge everyday for College.

Become a Student Ambassador
Join the Student Ambassador Team and inspire the next generation of students.
This is a paid, casual role that fits around your studies. You’ll help at a variety of events and share your experiences with prospective students.
