Momentous Football Academy: Women’s Taster Session
Women of all ages and abilities across RNN Group campuses are invited to join Momentous Football Academy for an engaging session on the pitch.
Taking place at Dearne Valley College, the taster will run from 1-3pm on Thursday 18th December.
A free Zeelo bus is available for students based at North Notts College and Rotherham College, making the session accessible for everyone.
Build Confidence
Stepping onto a football pitch for the first time can feel intimidating, especially if you are unsure of your ability or nervous about being the only beginner. Designed to ease nerves, the session provides a welcoming, relaxed space for everyone.
Many beginners hold back, thinking they need prior experience, but curiosity is all you need to enter. Taking part offers a supportive space where confidence develops naturally through practice, encouragement, and fun.

Develop Skills
FA and UEFA-qualified coaches lead every activity with energy and expertise, tailoring sessions for all abilities. Simple movements, fun drills, and clear guidance make it easy to start learning new skills from the very beginning, even without previous experience.
Whether you’re new, returning, or feeling unsure, coaches offer a welcoming environment. Within this supportive environment, players gradually develop skills while growing in confidence and teamwork.
Progress Further
Momentous offers opportunities to advance beyond the taster session. Women can follow structured pathways, gaining skills and experience at their own pace. Players can also join the competitive women’s squad in Yorkshire & Humber Tier 2: 9-a-side League B.
Sessions fit around studies, letting players balance college life with football. Along the way, friendships form, and every moment on the pitch is enjoyable.

Player Voices
In a recent survey, current player shared their views on the academy:
Macy Hatfield shared:
“I enjoy playing for the Momentous Football Academy because it helps me improve my skillset and confidence.”
Amelia Symons added:
“I enjoy playing for the girls as part of doing my Public Services course alongside.”
Players often cite increased confidence, stronger friendships, and a sense of belonging as key reasons they keep training.
