Upon invitation, Rotherham College’s Media Make-up department have visited a reception at the House of Lords to discuss the skills Rotherham College provides its’ learners.

This was a very special event and felt like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to raise our profile amongst such a variety of nationally-important people at the same time.

“It was great to see so many other colleges and hear about their achievements too whilst sharing good practices and making new contacts.”

UCR Specialist Make-up student Megan Bentley said: “We are proud to have attended a college that has won such a prestigious award as the Beacon Award and it’s great to add this to my CV to show employers what I can do.”

Fellow UCR Specialist Make-up student Emily Smith added: “We listened to a talk from several MPs about the importance of vocational skills and college education. We feel privileged to have been invited to the event and proud to represent the college.”
