Health and Wellbeing Week 2026

Across campus next week, current students can take a break from their daily schedule to prioritise their health and wellbeing.

Each day gives you the chance to explore activities that refresh your mind and body.


Monday 19th January

Music Technology Workshop (Bookable)

Delivered by Mikey Brennan from Noise Academy Ltd, these interactive workshops introduce beatboxing and music technology. Sessions encourage self-expression, rhythm, and performance in a relaxed group setting.

Silent Disco (Bookable)

Led by The Silent Disco Company, wireless headphones create a fun and inclusive space to dance freely. Students can enjoy music, boost confidence, and connect with others in a lively group environment.

Tuesday 20th January

Mindful Arts and Crafts (Bookable)

A sensory-based creative session designed to support positive mental health. Craft activities encourage calm, focus, and relaxation while allowing space for self-expression.

Wednesday 21st January

Mindful Arts and Crafts (Bookable)

Continuing the creative focus, this session provides a calm environment to support mindfulness, wellbeing, and emotional balance through hands-on activities.

Thursday 22nd January

Wellbeing Event (Drop-in)

Explore advice, resources, and support from providers below in the Bistro. Experts are on hand to help you feel more confident and supported in looking after your wellbeing.

Journalling and Positive Affirmations (Bookable)

Explore self-expression, boost confidence, and nurture self-compassion in this creative, reflective workshop led by Sara Teal. Using journalling prompts and positive affirmations, sessions can be adapted for different literacy levels and SEND needs.

Group Reiki (Bookable)

Experience deep relaxation and a nervous system reset in this gentle group session led by Sara Teal. Reiki is offered without physical contact or from a respectful distance and can be particularly helpful for students who struggle with talking.

Meditation, Breathwork, and Mindfulness (Bookable)

Hosted by Sara Teal, this session introduces practical techniques to manage stress, improve focus, and support wellbeing. Students will try guided relaxation, breathing exercises, and grounding techniques.

Friday 23rd January

Creative Writing for Wellbeing (Bookable)

A creative writing workshop themed around wellbeing, delivered by local charity Grimm & Co. Students will explore storytelling and self-expression in a supportive setting.

Please note: participants should bring their own writing supplies. If support is needed, contact the Personal Development team by the end of Wednesday 22nd January.

African Drumming (Bookable)

High-energy percussion sessions delivered by Unbeatable Energy, who have been running African drumming workshops for over 20 years. Sessions promote teamwork, rhythm, and positive energy.
