Getting to know your College
This week we will be giving tours, providing demos on the tools that we use at College, and staff will be giving information talks at the start of lessons.

Week 2: Monday 8th – Friday 12th September
September sign up
Find out about the opportunities that you have access to as part of becoming an RNN Group learner at our ‘Sign Up Fair’. This will be held in the Rotherham College refectory on Wednesday 10th September between 9:30am and 3pm.
There will be games such as table tennis and air hockey, and food will be available.
Stalls at the sign up fair will include; the bursary team, personal development enrichment, student union, MESMAC, ROADS, Kooth, Aramark, the army cadets, AI reboot, Barclay’s, Rainbow Project, the work placement team, Healthwatch, Turing, Lync Active, the library team and the Momentous Football Academy.
If you miss this sign up fair, don’t worry, you can speak to one of our Personal Development team members who will be at the Find Your Feet stand on reception between 12pm-2pm each day this week.
Week 3: Monday 15th – 19th September

Take part in surveys and discussions to let us know how you’re finding College.
On Wednesday 17th September parents and carers are invited to an information session at the College which will be running between 5pm – 7pm.

We want to make sure that you are happy with the course that you’re on.
Did you know that if you aren’t completely happy, you can swap to a different course? We can support you in finding the right course for you.

A focus on careers and skills
We will be holding a careers fair throughout the day on campus on Wednesday 1st October.

Friday 10th October
| 14:00 | Colour Run at Dearne Valley College – All students welcome! |
The Colour Run is an annual event held at Dearne Valley College. We celebrate the first few weeks of your time at College by allowing learners from Rotherham College, North Notts College and Dearne Valley College to come together at one site.
Walk/skip/run around a pre-cut track whilst getting covered in multiple showers of paint! will need a white t-shirt, comfy footwear, water bottle and a change of clothes (for after) to take part. Showers and changing rooms are available near the gym.
We recommend bringing a towel and hygiene items if you wish to use these afterwards to clean yourself up. We’ll see you there!

This week we will celebrate the end of the first half term, this will include rewards for attendance and general awards for our learners, more information to follow.
Enrichment
Our enrichment activities provide you with the opportunity to try new things, develop new skills, and meet new people.
See what activities are available by speaking with the Personal Development team or scanning the QR codes found on the enrichment board in reception.

Your College ID badge gives you…
Access to College facilities and your classes, the ability to borrow library books, print documents, pay for food and drinks, and you can earn kudos points to win £100 each term!

Become a Student Ambassador
Join the Student Ambassador Team and inspire the next generation of students.
