Opportunities on Offer at September Sign-Up Event 2025
This week we welcomed new and returning students to our annual September Sign-Up event.
The event gave students the chance to explore a wide range of clubs, activities and local opportunities designed to enrich their time at college and beyond.
A lively mix of stalls filled the space, with organisations including The Rainbow Project, Arc Cinema, Hopian, Kooth and many more joining the day. Each stall provided information, resources and advice to help students discover new hobbies, access support services and get involved in the local community.

The event was also honoured by a special visit from the Mayor of Rotherham, who came along to meet students and stallholders.
The Mayor praised the College for its efforts in creating opportunities that help young people connect with their community and take part in positive, enriching experiences.

Music throughout the day was provided by one of our very own students, Tom, who has built his own online radio station, Shockwaves Radio.
With over 1,000 listeners on Discord, what began as a hobby for Tom has now grown into a thriving business. He took over the music for the event, creating a lively atmosphere that showcased his talent and entrepreneurial spirit.

As well as meeting external organisations, students also had the opportunity to sign up for a variety of student-led clubs and activities available on campus.
From creative societies to wellbeing groups, and the Student Union, the event highlighted the many ways learners can make new friends, build skills and enjoy life at college outside the classroom.

The Sign-Up Event forms part of the College’s commitment to ensuring students have access not only to excellent education, but also to experiences that support their personal growth, wellbeing and future aspirations.
