Rotherham College Launches the Peckish Pigeon

20 March 2026

Following a student naming competition last term, Rotherham College launched the Wentworth Café’s new name – The Peckish Pigeon – with Olivia Geddes who won the competition.

Olivia, a Level 3 Performing Arts student at Rotherham College came up with the name as Rotherham is synonymous with pigeons and people come to the café when they are hungry.

She said the logo gave off a warm seaside vibe and really worked with the Rotherham College colours.

Olivia was presented with a certificate and some Amazon vouchers as a reward and a lunch hosted by the College’s Leadership team for Olivia and her friends.

Olivia’s name is included in a sign next to the wall art. Huge congratulations from everyone at Rotherham College for an excellent name and logo. It brings a smile to all our faces and we are very proud!
