Our open events are a great way for you to get a feel for the courses we offer, explore your career choices and discuss your options.
If you’re a school leaver and would like to know your options, or an adult wanting to upskill, come along to one of our open events to see how we can help.

What can I expect at an open event?
Our open events give you the chance to explore our campus, discover our wide range of courses, and get a real feel for college life.
You’ll be able to meet our tutors, speak to current students, view our facilities, and ask any questions you may have about your next steps.
Do I need to book in advance?
We recommend booking your place in advance so we know you’re coming and can keep you updated with important information about the event.
Booking is quick and easy online. However you are able to sign in on the day if you aren’t able to register beforehand.
Do my friends and family also need a ticket for the open event?
Only people interested in studying with us and their parents/carers need a ticket, however your friends and family members are more than welcome to accompany you.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the open event?
You don’t have to bring a printed copy of your ticket to the event.
You will be sent a QR code via email that we can scan on your arrival, or we can ask for your full name when you arrive.
How long should I plan to stay?
Most visitors stay between 1-2 hours. This gives you plenty of time to tour the campus, speak to tutors and support teams, and attend any subject talks or demonstrations.
Will there be subject talks or presentations?
Yes. On the day, there may be scheduled talks about specific courses, apprenticeships, T Levels, student support and the application process.
Our friendly staff will let you know what’s happening when you arrive.
Can I apply at the open event?
Absolutely. Our Admissions Team will be available to help you start or complete your application on the day. We can also guide you through what happens next.
Can parents and carers attend?
Of course! We encourage parents, carers and guardians to attend so they can ask questions and learn more about how we support our students.
What should I bring with me?
You don’t need to bring anything specific – just your questions!
If you’re interested in a creative course, you’re welcome to bring along a portfolio to discuss with tutors.
Will I be able to speak to current students?
Yes. Our Student Ambassadors are available at open events to share their experiences and answer questions about college life.
Is the campus accessible?
Yes, our campus is fully accessible. If you have specific accessibility requirements, please let us know when booking or speak to a member of staff when you arrive, and we’ll be happy to help.
Is there parking available?
There are pay to park car parks available on Percy Street, Drummond Street, Forge Island and the Wellgate multi-storey. There are also great transport links for buses and trains.
What support services can I find out about?
You can speak to our support teams about financial support, bursaries, travel assistance, additional learning support, wellbeing services and careers advice.
What happens after the open event?
After your visit, you can apply online (if you haven’t already). Our Admissions Team will then be in touch about interviews or next steps.

Can I visit on another day if I can’t attend?
Yes. If you’re unable to attend an open event, you can contact us to arrange a personal tour or speak to a member of our team for more information.
