Graphic Design students collaborate with Sheffield design agency for typography exhibition

17 May 2018

Graphic Design degree students from Rotherham College have collaborated with Sheffield design agency Eleven Design to create exhibition Type Town, a project that focuses on typography inspired by Rotherham’s signage and buildings both historical and modern.

The brief was introduced by Eleven Design who have been working with Graphic Design students from Rotherham College over the last few years, delivering talks and workshops about the design industry.

It is through this brief that students were encouraged to take photography of typography examples around the town centre, and then recreate their own interpretation using Adobe software. The exhibition showcases the patterns of these individual letters, as well as the finished pieces from a workshop with students from Wickersley Comprehensive School.

The exhibition is displayed at Riverside House, Rotherham, and will be open for viewing until Wednesday 30th May.
