Choose Your Future: Join Us this September

11 January 2021

The start of a New Year presents an opportunity to think about what lies ahead: what goals you’d like to achieve and where you would like to be in 12 months’ time.

If a college course is something you’re are looking to pursue, you might be considering what’s important to you.

Are you looking to study a subject you are passionate about, develop important friendships and connections, discover new passions and develop skills for a bright and successful future? At Rotherham College, we can help you to choose your future and support you to achieve all of your dreams and ambitions – whatever they may be.

We have a wide range of career-focused courses for you to choose from including Art, Graphic DesignFashion, Catering and Hospitality, Hair and Beauty, Engineering and everything in-between; you’re sure to find a course that inspires you.

Delivered in industry-standard facilities, you can develop your craft and gain relevant practical experience to prepare for your chosen industry. Build confidence and perfect your performance in our in-house theatre; prepare for a culinary career in our fast-paced commercial training restaurant, The Wharncliffe; master your hairdressing skills in Inspire, our commercial on-site training salon; or build the foundations for a successful career in bricklaying, joinery or plumbing in our dedicated Construction Centre.

If music is your passion, you’ll be glad to know that Rotherham College is home to the Roland Music Academy, one of only 13 in the country and the first in the North of England. Students here have the opportunity to gain skills in live performance, sequencing, composition, music theory, recording, events and much more.

You’ll take part in industry placements, talks, visits and live projects that will ensure you’re prepared for your chosen industry. We provide you with the hands-on, real-life skills you will need to succeed and stand out from the crowd.

Our courses are taught by tutors who have worked in industry and bring a wealth of skills and knowledge to their teaching. Many of our courses are designed in collaboration with industry experts, which means you learn the skills that are sought after and required to give you a head start, ensuring your future employment prospects are given an enormous boost.

If you’re eager to jump into the world of work and start your dream career you might prefer an apprenticeship. We offer a range of apprenticeships where you earn a wage while you learn, working alongside experienced staff to gain sector specific skills. Apprenticeships are available to people of any age, from a school leaver starting their career to a manager who wants to gain new qualifications.

While developing your skills and preparing for your dream career is hugely important, we know your college experience is about much more than that, which is why we’ve invested in an enrichment programme to encourage our students to discover new things, develop new skills and meet new people.

You will have the opportunity to join a sports club and take part in competitions, listen to guest speakers, find out about Higher Education and career opportunities, perfect your CV, polish up on your interview skills, develop skills of enterprise and entrepreneurship and take part in competitions which will further enrich your CV. You’ll also have the chance to make a positive difference to others or their environment through social action projects and activities such as volunteering, fundraising and regeneration projects.

Whatever your dreams for 2021, we have the facilities, expert tutors and professional links to support you to succeed in your future.
