This course will focus on key developments in lens based industries, from both an historical and technical perspective.

Students will engage in learning all aspects of current technology associated with both media and photography, creating multi-skilled practitioners. Modules will allow students to work on self-generated and client lead briefs, which challenge them to think creatively and consider the parameters of the set tasks.

The course focuses on enabling students to gain work placement and find freelance opportunities whilst giving a realistic insight to lens based industries.  The course challenges students to meet expectations that are both demanding and realistic.

By studying this course you will learn many key skills such as production skills in media and photography. You will learn how to be a confident and knowledgeable lens based practitioner.  You will learn both media and photography skills, which will allow you to be multi-skilled in your specialism. You will develop an understanding of the employment opportunities of the industry, whilst exploring freelance opportunities.

There are plenty of opportunities to get involved with enrichment activities: On location film school, photographic trade shows, residential visits, film festivals, exhibitions and cinema trips.
