Food preparation and cooking is a level two qualification that is employer approved and cover a good grounding for a variety of hospitality areas such as front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, cookery and hospitality services all leading to employment opportunities. The NVQs are suitable for anyone either in full-time employment or progressing from a Level 1 qualification or those who are able to start a qualification at Level 2. The catering and hospitality sector is ideal if you want to work in a fast-paced environment, have a passion for cooking and working in a customer-focused setting.
Butchers prepare and sell meat and poultry and make meat products.
Buy, order, store and control stock, receive deliveries and check their content and quality,
create product displays, cut and trim meat, serve customers, advise customers how to
prepare and cook meat and drive to markets, wholesalers and customer’s premises.**

Restaurant Managers organise the day-to-day running of their venue and make sure customers are happy with the food and service they receive.
