Entry 3 Catering and Hospitality

This qualification helps you in your first steps in the hospitality sector. You’ll learn about many aspects of the industry and gain valuable practical and teamwork skills. The qualification covers various routes, including cookery, food service and the industry as a whole. This qualification are for anyone who is interested in a career in the hospitality sector.

You will study a range of topics including:

• E301 Introduction to the hospitality industry
• E302 Customer service in the hospitality sector
• E308 Essential knife safety
• E310 Introduction to meal planning and preparation
• 105 Introduction to healthy eating
• 106 Basic food preparation and cooking
• 202 Food safety in Catering

This is ideal for students who have little or no experience in the sector. It is also perfect as a foundation course as learners can take away life skills being able to cook independently. The qualification has a healthy eating unit that incorporates a healthy lifestyle when meal planning to prevent heart disease, obesity, diabetes and blood pressure.

Level 1 Certificate in Introductionto the Hospitality Industry

Be able to prepare and cook food that is suitable for a healthy life style independently.Have a basic understanding of the industry and the job roles available such as kitchen porter, commis chef catering assistant and customer service.

• 16-18 year olds do not need to pay course fees
• Those aged 19 or over may not need to pay fees depending on their circumstances. Find out if you qualify here.
