Engineering your future
Engineering is all around us and is essentially the art of designing products to solve real-world problems. Engineers use science-based models to complete tasks and projects that benefit the community. This could include designing the latest automation and robotics, investigating renewable energy resources, contributing to sustainability and developing new prosthetic aids for the medical sector. Our courses enable you to develop your engineering knowledge, skills, creativity and engineering experience to the highest levels in readiness for your future career or next level of study. Being an engineer means a cycle of continuous learning adapting to changes in society and the world around us.
Within engineering, we offer different engineering specialist routes:
• Welding and Fabrication – Welding practices and metal fabrication• Machining – Milling, Turning and Hand Fitting • Advanced Manufacturing – a mixture of electrical and mechanical engineering units including health and safety, electronics and programmable logic controllersAll of our courses will include varying levels of engineering maths and science (including material properties).
Rotherham college offers innovative engineering courses, taught in our state of the art facilities and engineering workshops. All of our courses are delivered by a range of industry specialists who can also offer careers advice for you to make informed choices about your next steps. Our curriculum is designed with input from local employers to ensure we are providing the essential skills needed to fill the engineering skills gap in Rotherham and the surrounding areas. Through the use of Google Workspace, we also develop essential digital and independent skills needed to be successful in the world of work.
