If you want to learn more about the childcare or health and social care industries, this course provides an excellent basis for you to begin working towards a career working within nurseries and children’s centres, as a Teaching Assistant or in a range of roles within the health and social care sector. You will develop care-specific skills and transferable skills which will allow you to move onto your chosen progression route.
You will study a range of topics including:

- Forest Schools
- Child development
- Communication with adults and children
- Keeping active and healthy
- Being organised
- Support to progress onto a suitable Level 2 course to achieve your ambitions
- Lecturers have vocational experience in a range of professions in the workforce and have been employed in various organisations within each of the sectors.
- GCSE English and Maths at grade 2 or above or a Level 1 qualification
- A keen interest in the subject and a good school reference
- As part of the interview process you will be expected to attend an interview.
- You can study for your GCSE English and Maths alongside this course if you do not already hold the required grades
