The qualification covers various routes, including cookery, food service and the industry as a whole. This qualification is for anyone who is interested in a career in the hospitality sector. You will be expected to work in the college restaurant serving external customers.
You will study a range of topics including:
- Unit 101 Introduction to the Hospitality Industry
- Unit 103 Food Service
- Unit 106 Basic food prepartion and cooking
- Unit 113 Health and Saftey awareness
This ideal for students who have little or experience in the sector. It is also perfect as a foundation course as learners can take away life skills of being able to cook independently. The qualification has a healthy eating unit that incorporates a healthy lifestyle when meal planning to prevent heart disease, obesity diabetes and high blood pressure.
