This qualification helps you in your first job in the hospitality sector. You’ll learn about many aspects of the industry and gain valuable practical and teamwork skills. The qualification covers various routes, including cookery, food service and the industry as a whole. This qualification is for anyone who is interested in a career in the hospitality sector. You will be expected to work in the college restaurant serving external customers.
You will study a range of topics including:
- Unit 101 Introduction to the Hospitality Industry
- Unit 103 Food Service
- Unit 106 Basic food prepartion and cooking
- Unit 113 Health and Saftey awareness
This ideal for students who have little or experience in the sector. It is also perfect as a foundation course as learners can take away life skills of being able to cook independently. The qualification has a healthy eating unit that incorporates a healthy lifestyle when meal planning to prevent heart disease, obesity diabetes and high blood pressure.
