If you want to learn more about the catering and hospitality industry, this course provides an excellent basis for you to begin working towards a career within restaurants, pubs, fast food outlets and cafes. As part of this course you will develop your employability skills by working in our commercial restaurant and kitchens. A uniform will need to be purchased for both front of house and the kitchen before starting the course. A list of uniform requirements will be issued following successful enrolment to the course.

You will learn in our training kitchens and realistic working environments and use high specification equipment in order to prepare you for work within this exciting industry. You will gain work experience in The Wharncliffe restaurant to further develop industry practices and skills. There are opportunities to attend masterclasses and workshops and take part competitions.

The catering and hospitality sector is ideal if you want to work in a fast-paced environment, have a passion for cooking and working in a customer-focused setting.
Butchers prepare and sell meat and poultry and make meat products.
Buy, order, store and control stock, receive deliveries and check their content and quality,
create product displays, cut and trim meat, serve customers, advise customers how to
prepare and cook meat and drive to markets, wholesalers and customer’s premises.**
