The academy is the IT specialist training section within the College, delivering an array of vendor qualifications, from the latest Microsoft Vista, Cisco wireless technologies and iMedia Web Design.

Information Technology is giving businesses everywhere a competitive edge, helping to improve financial management and customer relations, identify and target new market areas, and promote and sell offerings more effectively. Yet the task of implementing and supporting IT can still seem daunting and expensive.

We make technical IT training available to businesses in South Yorkshire and tailor courses for employed individuals looking to gain hands-on-skills backed by vendor certification through its Cisco and Microsoft.

Cisco Networking Academy

The Cisco Networking Academy offers training in Cisco technologies. Delegates work towards recognised vocational certification opportunities that can advance their careers. The Cisco Academy Programme offers two distinct courses:

• CCNA Discovery
• CCNA Exploration

Microsoft IT Academy

The Microsoft Academy Programme offers training in Microsoft technologies. Delegates work towards recognised vocational certification opportunities that can advance their careers. Microsoft It Academy offers the following courses:

Windows Vista:

• Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS)
• Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)

Windows XP/2003:

• Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)
• Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST)

Microsoft Office:

• Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS)
• Microsoft Office Master (MOM)
• Microsoft Certified Applications Specialist (MCAS)

Web Design 

The iMedia qualification is aimed at those who already possess foundation skills (at Level 1 or equivalent) and who wish to further develop their skills and ability in Web Design. OCR iMedia is constructed of the following modules:

• Unit 1: Digital Graphics using Macromedia Fireworks
• Unit 2: Web Authoring using Macromedia Dreamweaver
• Unit 3: Digital Animation
