Nursery takes part in World Book Day

Children from the Rother Valley Campus College Nursery were recently encouraged to become involved in the annual celebration of World Book Day.

All children dressed up for the occasion as their favourite story book characters and enjoyed a number of activities including; character role play, colouring in and story time in the College’s Learning Centre with members of staff. The children also showed off their dazzling outfits around college as part of a fund raising activity to enable the group to purchase a number of Dual Language story books. Nursey Manager - Tracy Chapman explained, “All of the children had a fantastic day. Books are promoted and accessed throughout the setting on a daily basis and the children are encouraged to take home story sacks that are provided by the nursery to promote language, communication and literacy.” “Many of the children are also members of the Imagination Library which provides free books to the children’s homes each month. This helps to encourage parents to read with their children in the home environment.”
