RMBC Apprentice of the Year

Business Administration Apprentice Laura Cusack recently won Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council’s Apprentice of the Year.

The award was presented at the Young People’s Achievement Awards and was a great achievement for Laura in the early stages of her career. Laura carried out her apprenticeship with the Council, making such an impression that she was the first Business Administration apprentice to be offered permanent employment. Away from work, Laura also helps young people with disabilities who attend the Glead Field Riding School and is a Taekwondo black belt who teaches other young people about the martial art. Children and Young People’s Services’ Strategic Director, Joyce Thacker, said: “Laura’s work with the council has been excellent and she has been rewarded for her hard work. We now hope she will be an inspiration to the other young people who are involved in apprentice scheme around the borough.”
