Maltby Lions present award for ‘Student of the Year’
The Maltby (Rother Valley) Lions demonstrated their local support when they presented the Student of the Year Award to Maegan Williamson.
Maegan received the award for the fantastic progression she has shown throughout the National Diploma in Animal Management course at the Rother Valley Campus in Dinnington. The award was also combined with a bursary cheque for £200 in order to help with the costs of study materials and equipment in preparation for her enrolment on a course at the University of Lincoln where she will be studying Animal Welfare. The award was presented by the President of the Maltby (Rother Valley) Lions Mr Alf Seeley who congratulated Maegan on her success and her hard work throughout the year. Mr Seeley also added, “We are very pleased for Maegan and hope she keeps in touch and lets us know how she is getting on at university.” Paul Bloor, Rother Valley Campus Manager thanked the Maltby Lions for their continuous support throughout the years and for the “generous award which will support Maegan’s transition into Higher Education.” Andy Jonas, Maegan’s tutor explained how the student has blossomed “not only academically but also socially” during her time at College and that she has become “one of the best students to ever study on the course.” When asked on her thoughts on receiving such recognition, Maegan said, “It feels brilliant. It’s good to know my work hasn’t gone unnoticed and the encouragement makes me want to push myself even further and learn more.”
