Miss South Yorkshire 2009 competition
Media make-up students were able to put their creative skills to the test during their involvement in Miss South Yorkshire 2009.
The team worked alongside award winning hair stylists ‘Wigs and Warpaint’ to create the perfect look for each contestant as they took to the stage. The event was held at the Players Bar in Sheffield and included celebrity judge - actor Junade Khan who plays ‘Ash Roy’ in the soap ‘Hollyoaks’. Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy Lecturer for the College Kelly Carr described the event was as a “real life test for the students to show how they have developed throughout the academic year.” Kelly also added, “It was wonderful to see how the students have grown in confidence and it was a pleasure to observe how they have all blossomed into fully competent make-up artists who are now organised, professional and demonstrate a very high standard of skill.” “The event proved to be a great success and the event organisers were so impressed that they invited future students to return to the ‘Miss South Yorkshire 2010’ event.”
