The Spring Showcase was a great day out for all the family
The wet weather was certainly no problem when we hosted our annual fun filled Spring Showcase at the Rother Valley Campus.
The event included a variety of fun activities including live music performances, a treasure hunt and a number of live demonstrations which allowed members of the public to learn about the wide range of courses available at the College. Visitors were also entertained by catering staff and students who presented a Jamie Oliver style ‘Pass it On’ cookery event, which included advice and handy hints on how to make simple, tasty and healthy dishes. Members of the public also had the opportunity to speak to the team about their involvement in Jamie Oliver’s ‘Ministry of Food’ television show which was broadcast on Channel Four in October last year. There was plenty to see and do on the day including farmyard activities and crime scene investigation’s created by the Forensic Science department. A contribution of £365.75 was also raised for local charity Bluebell Wood through the great success of a bottle tombola where bottles of wine and beauty products were up for grabs. Despite the rain, we had an excellent turn out and had an entertaining program for all the visitors to enjoy. We love opening our doors to the community as it enables us to show people what we have to offer.
