£32,500 Awarded to Local Businesses
Rotherham College of Arts and Technology has been successful in securing £32,500 for local employers who have recruited new employees through a National Apprenticeship grant in March and April 2010.
In February the National Apprentice Service announced 5000 Apprenticeship Grants would be available for UK employers who recruited a new apprentice.
Rotherham College of Arts and Technology successfully secured £2,500 for 13 local employers who created new opportunities for unemployed 16 and 17 year old apprentices, ranging from
Business Administration to Motor Vehicle and Electrical Engineering.
“I am totally committed to the training of apprentices as it is the way forward for our industry . Employers who are prepared to invest a modest amount of time to put in place an effective apprenticeship program are repaid many times over ”.
“I also believe individuals value the fact that their employer has taken the time and effort to train them. I appreciate the way Rotherham College of Arts and Technology communicates with me about our apprentices progress and I trust that our relationship continues in the future as it has in the past.”
Gerard Hughes, Operations Manager at MGB plastics
Rotherham College of Arts and Technology in partnership with the National Apprenticeship Service is committed to helping more unemployed young people secure apprenticeship opportunities and set them on a strong career path which benefits both the young person and the employer they work for.
“Rotherham College guided us through the whole process by delivering a highly informative and professional service. With the support of the grant we recruited a high calibre candidate who is already making a valuable contribution to the business”
Robert Horner, Motor Mechanic at South Yorkshire Motor Homes
We would like to thank our clients for the opportunities they have provided and we wish you every success with your new member of staff.
We have 32 different Apprenticeship pathways currently and are offering new apprenticeships in September such as IT and Horticulture. IT apprentices provide huge benefits to employers and in year one, training costs are recouped and benefits of £6333.00 are seen, according to the Institute for Employment Research.
