Support for Bluebell Wood

click to enlarge The College and the Maltby (Rother Valley) Lions teamed up to show support for local charity Bluebell Wood Childrens’ Hospice during a cheque presentation at the Rother Valley Campus.
The total amount of £638.38 was raised by the two organisations at the College’s recent Spring Showcase event where a number of fund raising activities were carried out including book sales and a bottle tombola where many wine and beauty products were up for grabs.
The hard work and enthusiasm demonstrated by the Lions and College staff certainly paid off resulting in respectable collections of £300 and £338.38.
The cheques were presented to the charity’s representative Sandra Waterfield who thanked the two organisations for their support and explained, “We are so grateful. We work with many families within the community as well as caring for the children within our hospice. Every penny we receive is wonderful and it means so much.”
Rother Valley Campus Manager Paul Bloor was impressed with the fundraising efforts of the Lions and the College and said,
“We value the long standing relationship we have with the Maltby Rother Valley Lions. It really is a fantastic partnership.”
“The Spring Showcase is a public event where we open up our doors and show the community what we have to offer. Having the opportunity to raise funds for a local charity makes such an event even more worthwhile.”
President of the Maltby (Rother Valley) Lions Mr Alf Seeley explained,
“We are proud to support such a worthy charity and are grateful for the continued support of the local people. We have a fantastic team of volunteers and we are always looking for new members to join us and make a difference within the community.”
