What is Heading for Success?
Heading for Success is a brand new course all about football! Approved by the Football Association and the Department for Education and Skills, the course helps you to brush up your skills and work through various levels to achieve a Skills for Life Qualification whilst learning about the beautiful game! Heading for Success was officially launched in March 2006 by Trevor Brooking, at the Football Association Headquarters in London. Working in partnership with football clubs, the programme held its first awards ceremony at FA headquarters in June 2007 and one lucky learner from each of the participating colleges had the chance to travel to London and meet with football celebrities past and present. Rotherham College of Arts and Technology is one of only 12 colleges in the country approved to run Heading for Success and is now one of only two colleges in South Yorkshire to offer the programme. We are working closely with Rotherham United F.C. and other South Yorkshire football clubs to develop and promote this exciting opportunity. If you choose to participate, you’ll be in good company – Supporters of Premier League clubs Manchester United, Liverpool, Everton, Newcastle United, Charlton Athletic, Wigan Athletic, and Football League sides Norwich City, Leicester City, Brighton & Hove Albion and Bristol City have honed their skills through Heading for Success.
