It is an exciting time at Rotherham College of Arts and Technology with all the improvements being made across both our campuses.

· Two new hair salons with the capacity to hold 16 clients
· A nail bar with the capacity to hold 16 clients
· A revamped entrance making it more accessible to the public
Media Make-up Workshops
We are increasing our media make-up facilities from one workshop to two new refurbished workshops within the Eastwood building for students to use from this September. Each workshop will have the capacity for 16 professionals to work in.
Theatre Production Workshop
To support our Studio Theatre located in the Eastwood building we are developing a new theatre production workshop. The workshop will be the ideal space for students to design, build and create sets, props and other supporting materials for our College performances taking place throughout the academic year.
Science Laboratories
Brand new state-of-the-art science laboratories are opening in our Clifton building this September. Each of the laboratories will have modern equipment and are designed to support different specialist areas.
There will be
· A chemistry and physics laboratory
· An electronics laboratory
· An electronics and metallurgy laboratory
· A biology laboratory
· A mixed science laboratory
Engineering Developments
As well as the new electronics and metallurgy laboratories opening in the Clifton building, the Engineering department is having a number of new state-of-the-art HAAS engineering machines installed and an improved entrance to the building making it more accessible.
Specialist Care Rooms
With our health and social care, care and childcare courses moving out of our Howard building and across to the Clifton building new specialist classrooms are being created for this September. There will be a number of childcare rooms as well as a new hospital room.
Foundation Studies Improvements
We are creating a new learning suite and facilities for our learners with learning difficulties and disabilities. The learning suite will be within our Eastwood building and will have improved accessibility while maintaining a secure entrance and learning area.
Centre for Learner Assessment and Support
As part of the new developments we are introducing a Centre for Learner Assessment and Support, which specializes in supporting those with Autistic Spectrum Conditions and other disabilities or barriers to learning which require support. The centre will be the first within the borough enabling the College to work alongside the Local Authority and other external agencies to help support the local community. By providing these specialist facilities closer to home it will mean fewer individuals will have to travel further afield to gain the support they require.
The College has recently opened a new plumbing workshop, welcomed an exciting range of animals to the farm and animal houses at Rother Valley Campus and is the home to the first Roland Academy in the North of England.
