Rotherham College of Arts and Technology and Dearne Valley College Statement
Rotherham College of Arts and Technology (RCAT) and Dearne Valley College (DVC) are successful colleges giving good service to their communities whilst operating in challenging times, but this throws up opportunities. To ensure a sustainable future innovative measures have to be taken. To maximise our opportunities going forward the Governing Bodies of DVC and RCAT have decided to collaborate in significant ways.
Over the next few months plans will be drawn up and implemented which improve our service to learners, employers and our communities and which increase our business efficiency, the collaboration of RCAT and DVC will include joint curriculum development and joint employer engagement activity, together with co-operation over staff recruitment.
To be clear, this is not a merger, but it is about close working, growth, excellence and putting the student first. We hope this initiative will lead to great things and prevent some of the more extreme business reduction processes having to be implemented that we see happening elsewhere.
