Student makes-up the perfect career

Ever dreamed of being a make-up artist working for big names and be as creative as you want? Well for Terri Donnelly her dreams came true.

Terri who is just finishing her Level 3 Hair and Media Make-up course at Rotherham College has had a whirlwind of a year from working on exciting projects at college to securing herself a job in the industry.

Terri has been working as a professional body artist for a local company and was has worked for clients including Mercedes Benz and Meadowhall where she was contracted to carry out make-up and face painting.

But she’s not going to stop there - she has already planned to move on to Level 4 Media Make-up with the promise of working on the set of the television series, Hollyoaks.

Terri said: “On completion of my Level 4 qualification, I have been told by a contact in the industry that I will be able to work on the set of Hollyoaks which will be absolutely amazing.”

Even though media make-up is her passion, Terri has done youth work volunteering. Terri explained: “I found it really hard at school as I struggled with my dyslexia but I have used this to help others go through the same situation that I did. I hope they can use me as an example of success and that you can achieve your dreams if you put the work in and have got the right support.”
