Funding Support

In these challenging times, it is important that businesses remain competitive and are able to respond flexibly to market changes. An important element of this is ensuring that business leaders and employees are skilled, knowledgeable and in a position to respond effectively to challenges and changes in economic and market needs.

The Skills Enhancement Fund

The Skills Enhancement Fund has three different routes available and in these up to 50% of training costs can be funded for employers.

The Provider Route is designed to support applications from training providers who are currently working with a cohort of identified companies with common training needs.

The Single Business Application route is designed to be responsive to individual businesses. Companies meeting eligibility criteria are invited to apply for funding to support the cost of training and staff development.

The Framework route is designed to support gaps in the training needs of specific sectors and clusters. Specifications are developed with the assistance of relevant stakeholders. Training providers are invited in rounds to apply for funding to undertake the specified activities and training.

Current Enhancement Funded Training through Rotherham College of Arts and Technology:

CIEH Food Safety Level 3

The Redundancy Service for Yorkshire and Humberside which is funded by the Learning and Skills Council European Social Fund (ESF). This support programme is offered to employees, who are under consultation or notice of redundancy.

The aim of this offer is to ensure that training provision is in place to enable providers to respond to redundancies and the employment implications of the present economic climate, and to fill gaps in mainstream LSC funding for individuals under consultation or notice of redundancy. The approach will ensure adults aged 18+ who can be made ready for work are provided with the high-quality training and education support that they need to enable them to either continue in, or re-enter employment and contribute positively to the local labour market.

Participants need to be 18+, resident in the Yorkshire and Humber area and either under consultation or notice of redundancy.
Rotherham College of Arts and Technology provide training support to individuals referred by Leeds City College, and are happy to support any enquiries. Funded training has ranged from OCR Level 1 in book keeping, PTLLS, Food Safety, First Aid courses and NEBOSH etc.
