This is the fifth year of the National Apprenticeship Week which celebrates everything apprenticeship – from the individuals, the schools, the employers and teachers.

National Apprenticeship Week is celebrated all across the country and is quickly becoming a popular alternative to further a career.
· Over 100,000 employers in over 160,000 workplaces in England offer Apprenticeships.
· There were over a half a million apprentices working in England last year.
· Last year there was a 58 per cent rise in apprenticeship starts compared to the previous year.
· Established sectors such as construction, manufacturing and engineering are continuing to support Apprenticeships.
· Some of the fastest growing areas have in IT, accountancy, childcare, health and retail.
